Marilyn Monroe

Biography:

Date of birth: June 1st, 1926 Los Angeles, California, USA
Date of death: August 5th, 1962 Los Angeles, California, USA (drug overdose)

Birth Name: Norma Jean Mortensen
Nickname(s): The Blonde Bombshell, MM

Her mother Gladys, was a film cutter, she was widowed and mentally ill. Due to her mother's illness Norma Jean (MM) was put into several foster homes. She was almost smothered to death at two and nearly raped at six. She got married at 16 to a man she called Daddy and they divorced in 1949. She owned 200 books, listened to Beethoven records, studied acting in Hollywood and took literature courses at UCLA downtown. She then got a contract with 20th Century Fox which is how she started her career. Later on in 1955 she married and divorced baseball great Joe Dimaggio, and after him she was married to playwright Arthur Miller. She then had an affair with Yves Montand. After a year off in 1958, Marilyn returned to the screen and was delightful in this comedy; Some like it Hot (1959) with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. This film was an abosolute hit, with Curtis and Lemmon pretending to be females in an all-girl band, so they can get work. Marilyn Monroe was voted 'Sexiest Woman of the Century' by People Magazine {1999}. She was also Playboy "Sweetheart" of the month, December 1953
She started using the name Marilyn Monroe in 1946, but did not legally change it until 1956.
She often carried the book, "The Biography of Abraham Lincoln."

Most people may say she was a flirt, a tease, or even a whore but she was an incredible person and I wish I could've met her. She liked to read, listen to Bethoven and cared about nature and the animals. She may have used sex to get what she wanted either for publicity or to get a role in a movie but she showed millions of people she was a powerful woman. Every woman wanted to be her and every man wanted to be with her. Marilyn Monroe was and always will be a legend and my idole.
